Joe's Valley Reservoir

Orangeville · Utah

Lake Freshwater
Joe’s Valley Reservoir is a scenic high-country lake near Orangeville, offering exceptional trout and tiger muskie fishing. The 1,200-acre lake hosts rainbows, cutthroats, and some of the largest tiger muskie in Utah.

Trout are stocked and respond well to bait and lures. Rainbows and cutts in the 12–18 inch range are common, with some larger fish taken near the dam or inlets. Trolling with spoons or casting spinners from shore can be very effective.

Tiger muskie are the star attraction. These predators reach 40 inches or more and strike big swimbaits and jerkbaits, especially during early summer and fall. Focus on structure like ledges and rock points.

Joe’s Valley features a boat ramp and shoreline access, though the terrain is steep in areas. Dispersed camping is available nearby. Winds can be strong by midday—early trips are best.

If you’re seeking both size and solitude, Joe’s Valley offers a unique combination of trophy fish and alpine scenery.
