Kens Lake

Spanish Valley · Utah

Lake Freshwater
Kens Lake near Moab is a popular multi-species reservoir offering year-round fishing for trout, bass, and panfish. Rainbow trout are stocked in spring and fall and average 10–14 inches, with some larger fish taken. They respond well to PowerBait, spinners, and fly patterns like woolly buggers and midges.

Summer brings productive bass fishing. Largemouth bass strike soft plastics and crankbaits near rocky structure and weedy cover. Bluegill are also plentiful and provide steady action for kids and beginners using worms or small jigs.

The lake has a boat ramp, campsites, and picnic tables, making it well-suited for weekend trips. Small boats, kayaks, and float tubes are all permitted.

Anglers are reminded to follow Utah’s statewide fishing regulations, which allow up to four trout and six bass per day unless signs state otherwise.

Kens Lake is a dependable fishery close to Moab that offers excellent access, diverse species, and great scenery.
