Pond Freshwater
Farmington Pond, a 10‑acre urban fishery inside Historic Farmington Park, offers diverse fishing for rainbow trout, catfish, bluegill, bass, and perch. Stocked heavily for Utah’s opener in spring and again in fall, trout average 10–16 inches.

Bait anglers succeed with PowerBait, worms, or salmon eggs. Light spinning gear with small lures works well too. Channel catfish arrive in summer—easily caught on cut bait or stink baits on the bottom.

Bluegill and bass become active in warmer weather—fish near docks and structure with plastics, cranks, or float rigs.

The park offers paved walkways, playgrounds, restrooms, picnic shelters, benches, and a launch for non-gas boats.

Fishing is busiest mornings and evenings on weekends; midweek offers quieter opportunity. Standard limits apply, and catfish require separate tags. For urban families and anglers seeking a variety of species with easy access and good amenities, Farmington Pond is a strong choice.
